Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management – classical ballet
WA Classical Ballet Teachers’ Association Inc. is committed to assisting teachers in their professional development and career goals by brokering sponsorships for applicants who display both financial need and meritorious work. WACBTA has worked closely with Empowerdance Pty Ltd, a highly respected, nationally operational Registered Training Organisation which is vastly experienced in remotely delivering industry relevant National Qualifications in Dance, as they developed a classical ballet specific version of the more generic CUA40320 Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. This is generally a 12-18 month course, and students will study the theory/academic components online, and then the practical elements in the comfort of their home studio.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE MAY BE AVAILABLE
WACBTA has also partnered with private and corporate donors to provide funds to financially assist teachers who wish to undertake study of this classical ballet focused Certificate IV. Such teachers (or aspiring teachers) are invited to apply for financial support to undertake this course of study.
(Please note: the amount of financial assistance available may be variable depending of the level of support from sponsors.)
Hear from Previous WACBTA Sponsorship recipients:
Ashley To, WACBTA Sponsorship recipient 2024:
“Overall, I have found the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management incredibly valuable. It has broadened my knowledge in areas that I hadn’t previously considered, and applying these new ideas in the studio has shown me the direct benefits for my students. The course has been both informative and practical, supporting my growth as a teacher and building skills I know will be useful in the future. It has been a really positive experience, and I would definitely recommend it to other aspiring and new (assistant) teachers.”
Jasmin McGregor, WACBTA Sponsorship recipient 2024:
“I have just completed the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Managment through Empowerdance, and it’s already proving incredibly valuable. The course is giving me practical tools and fresh ideas to bring into the ballet studio – from lesson planning and classroom management to creating engaging, inclusive classes for every student.I’m so grateful to the West Australian Classical Ballet Teachers’ Association (WACBTA) for awarding me a scholarship to help with the cost of this training. Their support is enabling me to develop my teaching skills while balancing family life and my passion for ballet.”
